Flitwick Cricket Club is a large, Clubmark Accredited, "Focus Club", in central Bedfordshire with over 50 adult playing members and a huge youth section.
On Saturdays, we enter two teams in the Saracens Hertfordshire League, divisons 2 & 6, a third eleven in the more local Millman League and on occasions, a fourth eleven playing friendly cricket to develop our youngsters.
On Sundays, in 2010 we will field three senior teams in the Bedfordshire County League where the club has shown its innovative approach by pioneering the wearing of our own coloured kit. The 1st XI play in the Premier Division, the 2nd XI play in Division 2 following promotion in 2008, and in 2010 will enter a third eleven in the newly formed Division 5. In addition the club is an inaugural member of the Bedfordshire League Development Division, aimed specifically at Under 17 development, with the support of some adults.
In the winter months, the club participates in the Bedfordshire Indoor League, with games taking place on Sunday mornings at The Bunyan Centre in Bedford. The first team have just won the County title again to go with previous successes in 2005 & 2006, and will represent Bedfordshire in the National Championships in early 2011. The second team play in Division 2 also at The Bunyan Centre, and a third team in Division 4, which takes place at Lincroft Middle School in Oakley.
2008 saw the 30th anniversary of the acquisition of our fantastic ground, The Vale (pictured above). The first match was played on 18th April 1981, the scorecard of which is available on the link below.

2009 proved generally disappointing for both teams in the Hertfordshire League with both finishing just above the relegation places. The Sunday first team also performed patchily with a late surge of form securing Premier Division cricket for 2010. The Sunday second team, featuring many products of our colts section, performed admirably in their first season in Division 2 and for a time threatened promotion before finishing comfortably in mid table.
We run a very large and successful colts section with TWO league teams at age groups under 10, under 12, under 14,and under 16 as well as dedicated training to girls aimed at encouraging their participation in our great game. We hope to continue to see a large number of our current colts progress into senior cricket in forthcoming years.
